A historic and fascinating English beer, produced by the Greene King brewery as a blend of young beer and beer aged in oak barrels for many months. It has a dark brown color with mahogany highlights and a creamy cappuccino-colored head. On the nose, it releases complex aromas of toasted malt, caramel, molasses, dried fruit, plums, and light woody notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with an enveloping malty sweetness, oxidative nuances, and a long, warming finish. A strong meditation ale, rich in tradition and character.
