How to preserve melon?

For store melon correctly and to maintain its freshness and flavor intact, it is useful to distinguish between whole fruit and already cut fruit.

When the melon is still whole, may be held to room temperature, in a cool, dry place, until ready to consume, without any particular risk of deterioration.

After having it cut, instead, it is necessary to place it in refrigerator, preferably covered with plastic wrap or stored in an airtight container. This helps preserve its aroma and keep the pulp juicy longer.

To enjoy it at its best, it is advisable consume the melon within 24 hours of cutting it, so as to appreciate all of it sweetness, freshness and soft texture.
