To restore their aroma and consistency, simply prepare a bowl with water at room temperature and dissolve a small amount of sugarThe walnuts should be completely immersed and left to soak for a whole night(about 8–12 hours). During this time, the water slowly penetrates the shell, softening the fruit, while the sugar helps to impart a sweet, fresh note, similar to that of freshly shelled walnuts.
After soaking, the walnuts are more tender, flavorful, and perfect to enjoy plain, in salads, desserts, or other preparations.
